John Whitaker
John has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington. John worked in Professor Daniel T. Schwartz's Electrochemical and Interfaces Laboratory where he co-invented Electrochemical Printing (EcP). John was the winner of several innovation awards for his developments in electrochemical printing at University of Washington.
John previously served as Technical Director at Isotron Corporation, where he was principle investigator and program manager on a number of composite material development projects. John also has several pending patents on a novel composite nanolamination technology and co-founded a company called Modumetal where he is currently Chief Scientist.
Professor Daniel T. Schwartz
Professor Daniel T. Schwartz has been doing advanced materials and electrochemical engineering research at the University of Washington Chemical Engineering Department since 1991. He is also a co-inventor of Ionographics' core technology: Electrochemical Printing (EcP). Dan has published more than eighty refereed papers since 1987 and graduated over fifteen Ph.D and a dozen Master's students. He is currently Chairman for the UW Chemical Engineering Department and member of the Electrochemical Materials and Interfaces Laboratory.
Ben Wahlstrom
Ben Wahlstrom is founder and President of Korvis Automation, a leading manufacturer of precision equipment in the rapid prototyping, semiconductor, life science, and energy industries. Ben advises Ionographics on motion control issues, general manufacturing, and general business development. After earning his BS in mechanical engineering, Ben worked for seven years at Accu-Fab Systems of Oregon, a large tech-based automation company. Roles included engineering manager, key project manager, and inter-divisional technology lead. In 2001, Ben accepted a position as VP of engineering and manufacturing at Cytopeia Inc, a life science instrument manufacturer. Combining his background in custom systems with an advanced approach to standard product design, Ben launched Korvis Automation Inc. in February of 2002.
Robert Bismuth
Robert is a pragmatic innovator with a broad background in high technology business development and alliance-based business. His experience covers a number of diverse technology segments including software, network, user interface design, semiconductor and nano technologies. He is currently a strategic advisor and consultant to a number of startup and medium sized technology companies following his most recent tenure as an executive at Unidym Inc., where he worked on developing that company's carbon nanotechnology based business. Prior to Unidym, Robert joined Transmeta Corporation in 2003 as the company's first Vice President of Strategic Alliance and immediately stabilized the company's 3rd party relationships and partnerships, which ultimately lead to the company's first significant profitable revenues. In 2005, he assumed additional responsibility at Transmeta for its world wide sales and product marketing, taking on P&L responsibility for the company's microprocessor business unit. Prior to joining Transmeta, Robert held numerous senior executive positions in the software and Internet sectors, twice serving as CEO of software companies and sitting on the boards of a variety of companies. He previously spent 15 years at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he held several senior technical positions, eventually moving into management to become Digital's Vice President of Standards and Consortia Activities followed by becoming the company's first Vice President of Corporate Strategic Alliances. Robert holds a B.Sc. in Pure Mathematics from the University of Wales and a M.Sc. from McMaster University, Canada. He is also a graduate of the Stanford Executive Business School Program for Growing Companies.
