Topography map of microbumps representing hypothetical microlens mold designs
Many optical lenses are built by first forming a mold. EcP can control the shape of a deposit to build molds for optical microlenses. EcP can easily pattern several different shapes of microlens molds on the same substrate thus enabling high throughput screening of microlenses.
blood glucose sensor.
In many biosensor applications the environment for electrodeposition requires tailoring the conditions to meet the stringent demands of the biological materials being employed. Shown on the right is a blood glucose sensor which requires immobilization of the protein glucose oxidase and evolution of hygrogen peroxide as the electrochemically detectable byproduct. EcP permits the rapid screening of deposition conditions to maximize the activity of the sensor with minimal waste.
